Pure Photonics is a provider of 1550nm Tunable Lasers with narrow 10kHz linewidth and ultra-low FM noise. It provides a revolutionary change in laser solutions for many specialty applications, where the choice was limited to bulky tunable lasers and expensive fixed wavelength lasers. Pure Photonics breaks the paradigm by providing tunability with a high-volume, small form-factor and low-cost product.

In addition to bringing world-class high-volume telecom laser technology to niche sensor and test applications, Pure Photonics also provides differentiated detection solutions to labs and small volume applications. Eigenlight in-line power monitoring solutions, Class 20 & 40 Integrated Coherent Receivers (ICR)Variable Optical Attenuators (VOA) and Arrayed Waveguides Gratings (AWG)

Tunable Laser Products

The Pure Photonics tunable laser is based on a volume produced micro-ITLA for the Telecom market, ensuring performance, quality and reliability. We provide a telecom grade version with unmodified hardware and optimized firmware, and a sensor grade version with optimized hardware and firmware with optional features. These can be customized in output power performance (up to 17 dBm for C-band and 16 dBm for L-band) and frequency range (up to 60 nm). Each version can be further enhanced by their available operating features, such as modulation, fast tuning etc.

The low-noise tunable lasers can be provided as-is, with an evaluation board (PPEB700) or integrated into either the PPCL500 (for PPCL600), PPCL550 (for PPCL700), PPCL560 (with DB-9 interface) or CoBrite enclosure.

The products come with a standard set of modulation and control features, including the whisper mode operation. The PPCL700 has extended custom features and comes typically with 50 GHz Clean Sweep range and Clean Jump. Additional features are available to enable great performance in specific applications.

Evaluation Platform Solutions

The Pure Photonics tunable laser is a conveniently standardized laser module with a LVTTL serial interface and specific power-supply requirements. This is ideal for integration into your end-product.

For laboratory testing it is often more convenient to have a secondary board supply the voltage sources and to translate the output from your PC (typically a high-voltage RS-232 signal or a USB signal) into the required protocol. Pure Photonics offers several different solutions to facilitate product operations.
